Scholarship Program

  • Applicant need not be a member or have a family member in good standing in the New York State Trappers Association (NYSTA). It is encouraged.
  • Applicant must present a short essay to the committee in order to be considered.  The essay must include what type of courses the student will be enrolled in.
  • Applicants need not be pursuing an education in any Environmental Field. Applicants involved in trade school training are eligible to apply.
  • Applicant must include a list of reasons why they should be considered.
  • Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation; one from their teacher, and one other character reference.
  • Documentation listing any and all community involvement must be included.
  • If selected the applicant will be awarded $1,500 which will be paid directly to Their College of choice under the following conditions:
  • 1) Payment will only be made after verification of enrollment.
    2) A grade of C or higher must be achieved.
  • Applicants may apply in each year of College, but they must re-apply with all conditions met. Failure to do so will void their application
Deadline:  All All of the above information must be received no later than the first day of July of the Calendar Year.
