Applicant need not be a member or have a family member in good standing in the New York State Trappers Association (NYSTA). It is encouraged.
Applicant must present a short essay to the committee in order to be considered. The essay must include what type of courses the student will be enrolled in.
Applicants need not be pursuing an education in any Environmental Field. Applicants involved in trade school training are eligible to apply.
Applicant must include a list of reasons why they should be considered.
Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation; one from their teacher, and one other character reference.
Documentation listing any and all community involvement must be included.
If selected the applicant will be awarded $1,500 which will be paid directly to Their College of choice under the following conditions:
1) Payment will only be made after verification of enrollment. 2) A grade of C or higher must be achieved.
Applicants may apply in each year of College, but they must re-apply with all conditions met. Failure to do so will void their application
