Scholarship Program

  • Applicant must be a member or have a family member in good standing in the New York State Trappers Association (NYSTA) at the time of the application.  
  • Applicant must present a short essay to the committee in order to be considered.  The essay must include what type of courses the student will be enrolled in.
  • Applicants must be pursuing an education in the the Environmental Field. Examples include: Biologist, Environmental Law, Forest Ranger, etc. (If your not sure please contact the Chairman)
  • Applicant must include a list of reasons why they should be considered.
  • Applicant must include two letters of recommendation; one from their teacher, and one other character reference.
  • Documentation listing any and all community involvement must be included.
  • If selected the applicant will be awarded $1,000 which will be paid directly to your College of choice under the following conditions.
              1) Payment will only be made after verification of enrollment by NYSTA.
              2) A grade of C or higher must be achieved.
Deadline:  All All of the above information must be received no later than the first day of July of the Calendar Year.
